What do you give to the Lord as an offering?
There are two kinds of people according to an observation the Lord Jesus made in the temple before His arrest and crucifixion.

He saw rich men putting gifts into the treasury of the temple…
He also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins… and Jesus declared that this poor widow put in more than all the rich.  What?!  Two small copper coins in contrast to so much money?  Then Jesus explained Himself.  The rich gave from the surplus of their wealth.  The poor widow gave all she had. Luke 21:1-4

People who are filled with pride: may give out of the surplus of their wealth.
People who are humble, yielded to the living God: may give out of their poverty.

If you do give from what you have left over to the Lord –
consider two questions:
Do I rely on “my” money?
Do I rely on “me”?

If you give from your heart –
consider two questions:
Do I rely on the living God to supply my needs?
Do I rely on God Himself?

Followers of Christ… and I am one with you… let us consider carefully, prayerfully, how much God would have us give toward the ministry of our churches.  During this time when churches are not open because of the pandemic… giving is down at least 50% in many churches.

NASB Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”

~ Take it to heart ~

Our giving reveals our reliance ~
 on ourselves or on God!
Even two small copper coins count!
