The living God yearns for His people – He will have mercy on His people.
Even though the Lord God disciplines His people, He has not forgotten His people.  He remembers them.

Jesus yearns… for you – to have mercy on you.

Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem.
NASB Luke 19:41 “When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it…”

Why did Jesus weep over Jerusalem?  Because they “… did not recognize the time of their visitation.”  Luke 19:44b

They did not recognize their God’s yearning to give them His peace.  They did not recognize the coming judgment of Rome because they turned from God.  Their enemies were coming.  Their enemies would throw up a barricade and surround Jerusalem on every side.  Their enemies would level Jerusalem, not leaving one stone on another.  The Temple would be torn down.  Massive stones would be scattered over the temple mount.  And this took place in 70 ad.  Luke 19:45-44

Why?  Why?  “… because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”  They did not recognize Messiah, the Anointed One of God in their midst.  They did not recognize who Jesus was!  [And He is unchanging, He is still Messiah, the Anointed One of God!]

Jesus yearns for you and those you know to give all His peace, His mercy, His grace, His forgiveness, His love.

~ Take it to heart ~

The Lord yearns for you!
You are loved!
