Events in the life of Jesus impacted all of those around Him.  Healing, prophesy, relationships, Jesus was God on earth…how could those people not be changed?  How can we not be changed by the risen, living Savior?

Luke 17:11-17 (NIV)      Jesus Heals Ten Men with Leprosy

11 “Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosymet him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, ‘Jesus, Master, have pity on us!’

14 When he saw them, he said, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?’ 19 Then he said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well.’”

For most of us, this is a familiar story.  In my experience, the focus is always about the one Samaritan returning to Jesus to say, “thank you”.  This man did not expect to be healed.  The unexpected happened!  He was grateful, and his gratitude-attitude was met with favor from Jesus.

Our attitude impacts our thought patterns, our way of life, and everyone around us.

When we rise in the morning, our attitude toward the day is set.

I want to expect the unexpected.

And, I want to be grateful to our God for the day He created.  It truly is a new day.  Let us rejoice and be grateful!!

Psalm 5:3 (NIV)
“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
    in the morning I lay my requests before you
    and wait expectantly.”
