At one time I was the one which was lost.  I was a lost sheep and I was found!  That day, the day I asked Jesus to be my Savior, there was rejoicing in heaven.  All the praise goes to Jesus!

Jesus was telling a parable, to a large crowd.  Luke 15:3
He told that crowd about a shepherd who had one hundred sheep in his flock.  One sheep was lost.  What did that shepherd do?  He went looking for it until he found it.  The other 99 were seeable, contained in open pasture, they were safe and provided for.  But the one sheep was not seeable, it was not contained in safety under the shepherd’s care.  It was unsafe and it did not have the provisions it needed.  This sheep, the one which was lost, needed to be found. Luke 15:4

The shepherd found that sheep, he put it on his shoulders and carried it back to the flock, rejoicing!

Nothing is said about how heavy that sheep was to carry or the condition in which the shepherd found it.  But we do know that the shepherd rejoiced at finding the one which was lost! Luke 15:5

After the shepherd came home, he called his friends and neighbors together, come and let’s celebrate!  “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!”  Luke 15:6

Then Jesus told the point of the story: “I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”  Luke 15:7 NASB

~ Take it to heart ~

Rejoice when “… the one which is lost… ” is found, repents and chooses faith in Jesus as their Savior.
