A Healthy Fear
Jesus talked about fear, the fear of being killed by people. He said a strange thing about fearing murderers.
“I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and afterward that have no more that they can do.” Luke 12:4 NASB
People are limited, severely limited, on the damage they can do to others. Jesus said that people who kill can only kill the physical body. They have no power beyond that.
Then Jesus said, “But I warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!”
This is a healthy fear of God’s authority beyond this life.
Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior? Have you asked Him to save you from your sins? You can do something about it, today. If you haven’t asked Jesus to save you, do so, right now.
This healthy fear of God’s authority beyond your physical body is wisdom in action when you receive Jesus into your life.
God cares for you. He provided for you a way into His presence without fearing His authority to cast, throw you into hell. How? His name is Jesus. He was born to die, to take away your sins. But the catch? You have to ask Him to save you. You cannot save yourself, it’s impossible. No one else can save you, only Jesus, the living Son of God.
This healthy fear of God’s authority beyond this life will result in you knowing God loves you.
Jesus told the extent of God’s value of you.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7
~ Take it to heart ~
You are valued by the living God.
Having a healthy fear of His authority is a good thing.
