What do you know about promises?
Circumstances, many times, prevent keeping promises to others.
Promises made by people with no intention of keeping their promises.  Broken promises hurt!

God’s promises are for sure and for certain.
God’s promises are always fulfilled… at some point and in His perfect timing.

God’s promises about the coming of Messiah into the world the first time… all fulfilled!  Every one of those promises were kept.

There is a future promise which God gave through the prophet Ezekiel, while God’s people were in exile in Babylon.  That same promise is given to us through John when he wrote the book of Revelation.  What is the promise?

NASB Ezekiel 47:12 “By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food.  Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail.  They will bear every month because their waters flow from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”

What a promise!  A future promise… even today.  And because God is a promise-keeping God, that river will flow and that river will bring life giving water to those trees.

When John wrote Revelation, “listen” to what God further revealed about that river and the tree standing on its banks.

NASB Revelation 22:1-2 “Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, (that’s Jesus!)
2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

You can be involved in this future promise.  How?  By asking Jesus to be your Savior, this moment, wherever you are.

You also can be sure and certain that God keeps His promises to you through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
