Healing – fulfilling prophecy
Jesus was a busy man; true He was the Son of Man and the Son of God, but He was busy doing what He came to do. Looking through the writings of Matthew, consider what Jesus did in one day alone.
In one day!
He healed a leper by touching the untouchable leper.
He healed a Gentile servant because of a Roman Centurion’s faith in Jesus’ power, and He did it from a distance, He never saw the servant.
He healed Peter’s feverish mother-in-law by touching her hand.
Then He healed the many people who came after the evening meal. He delivered people from the power of demons and He did it with a word from His mouth. He also healed all who were ill.
Jesus was fulfilling prophecy spoken through Isaiah the prophet:
“HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.”
Medical doctors and medicines are used by God to heal. How often do we pray – hoping God hears? Should we not be praying knowing God hears and will answer?
Our hope is the living Hope, His name is Jesus. He came to fulfill all prophecy about Messiah, because He IS the Messiah.
Jesus came to do His Father’s will – every day of His life.
Fulfilling prophecy required the Lord Jesus to spend long days of healing. And when He healed He took those illnesses as if they were His and took them from people and placed them on Himself. Exhausting work!
Jesus is healing people today… it is not done lightly. He is involved in the healing process.
~ Take it to heart ~
NASB Matthew 8:16-17 “When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.
17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: ‘HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.’”
Have you thanked Him for healing you?
