Sometimes, it hurts to hear what we need to know.  But God loves us too much to let us go our own ways.

Listen to what God says
NASB Revelation 3:19 “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.”

Isn’t this interesting… God is telling the followers of Christ to repent.  He is not talking to those who do not believe in Jesus as their Savior.  Followers of Christ, we are to “be zealous and repent.”  God says so.

When hard things come into our lives what three things do we need to realize?

God love me!        God loves me!       God loves me!

Are we zealous, fervent in desiring to learn what God wants to teach us?  Or do we dig in our heels and say, I know what is better for me than God does? 

What did God say?  Repent – turn from your own desires, turn from your own strengths, turn from your own assumptions, turn from the world’s ways and turn to God Himself.

Confession is a part of repentance. 

Do we recognize where we disagree with God? 

The Lord God wants us to grow up… not stay at whatever level we are in our walk with the Lord Jesus.

Confession involves asking God’s forgiveness.
God is ready to forgive us.  He says so.

NASB 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Follower of Christ, this is why we need Jesus, every day.  Only by faith in Jesus can anyone be forgiven.  He is our Savior.  What wonderful Good News!
