As we see 2019 end, the anticipation for 2020 is beckoning us on…
Many people write out their New Year’s resolutions. They resolve to change… but real change can’t happen on the outside, it must come from within. Within are the motives and thoughts which find expression in our words and actions.
What does God say?
NASB Zechariah 8:16-17 “These are the things which you should do: speak truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in the gates.
17 ‘Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate, declares the LORD.’”
Followers of Christ, we have some marching orders when we begin a new year tomorrow:
Speak truth in love. Ephesians 4:15
Judge with truth. Our words are to be spoken with love as the motive, love for God and the one to whom we speak.
What else does God say?
NASB Zechariah 7:9-10 “Thus has the LORD of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother;
10 and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.”
