When was the last time you heard or read the news?  Did you find the headlines to be negative and even depressing?  Top news stories are usually attention grabbing.  They may instill fear, depression, anger…  They are not written to make you feel “safe” or comfortable.
Many who publish the news and newspapers believe kindness and feel good news does not sell papers.

Over 2,000 years ago somewhere on the hills outside Bethlehem:
Shepherds, minding their own business, tending to their sheep… then God intervened.   God’s glory, brighter than the noon day sun, shone around those shepherds at night.  And there is more to that true story, an angel sent from God, spoke to them.

The message given to those shepherds that long ago night is the same message we need to hear.

The best news in the world, for all time, is the following truth.

(NASB) Luke 2:10-11 “But the angel said to them (shepherds), ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’”

Good News! ~ this news is for all people, everywhere.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem – just as the prophet Micah said.
Micah 5:2

Good News! ~ Jesus was born to save His people from their sins.  That is what His name means.  Matthew 1:21

God proclaimed His Good News! when His Son, Jesus, was born in Bethlehem.
God told the shepherds first.  He did not tell kings or governors, He did not tell the powerful and wealthy… He told shepherds the Good News! first.

God tells you and me the same Good News! No matter if we are poor or rich; no matter what job we do ~ this same Good News! is for all people!

Jesus was born to save His people from their sins… Good News!

Are you one of His people?  Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior?  If not, right now is a great time to know His love is for you, His forgiveness is for you – no matter your past.

He wants to be a part of your today – your present.

And when you die – your future is assured to be in heaven with Him, your Savior.

~ Take it to heart ~

Good News!
‘Lord Jesus, I need You to save me from the things I do that does not please You.
Forgive me.
I want you to be my Savior, right now.
Thank You for Your love for me… and taking me as Your very own.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.’
