My love for God was not complete, nor mature, when I first became a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior.  When I read/study His word, He matures me, and I love Him more and more.  Do I expect to be fully mature in my love for God here on earth?  No, there is so much more growth I need in my love for my Lord.

What does God say?
NASB Deuteronomy 6:5 “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

You may have heard it said: ‘Love is a choice.’  It certainly is!  We can also choose to love God, to be ‘all in’ in loving Him.This love is not selfish love – wanting the attention on ourselves.

Love for the living God involves all of who we are – our life, our mind, our emotions, our will and with all of our strength.  It is a daily choosing to have love for God!

~ Take it to heart ~

As you read God’s word, the Holy Bible, do you treasure His words of rich love He has for you?
And as you read, do you have a growing and maturing understanding of love for God?

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.  Amen.”
NASB Ephesians 3:14-21
