Love is a word used a lot in conversations. How do you show love to others in a healthy way?
What God says – no getting revenge or holding onto grudges
NASB Leviticus 19:18 “You shall not take vengeance nor bear any grudges against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.”
What God says – freedom to love others
NASB Galatians 5:13-14 “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
How can you serve other believers, your brothers and sisters, whose faith is in Jesus Christ?
Repent! Turn from anything that is wrong against your sister/brother in Christ.
Seek reconciliation if there is a wall between you in your relationship.
Face to face, it this is not possible, then a phone call – have voice contact. If this too is impossible, write a letter… and send it!
No texting, no e-mail – these ways are too impersonal.
Pray. I have a good friend, a brother in Christ – he prays as you are talking with him. Whether it is on the phone or face to face, he prays. Blessing!
Prayer is love in action!
~ Take it to heart ~
Loving your neighbor as loving yourself is sacrificial love in action.
Reach out to others – a sacrificial action of love.
Jesus reached out to you, follower of Christ, with His sacrificial love.
Reach out with sacrificial love also.
Sacrificial Love in action…
