Yes, they can!

Idolatry is abhorrent to the God of the Bible. 

What God says
NASB Exodus 20:4-6 “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
⁵ You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate me
⁶ but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

People who hate God are filled – with hate.
People who love God are shown His lovingkindnesses. 

People who love God do what He tells them in His word, the Holy Bible.
People who do what God says, they ask Jesus (God’s Son) to be their Savior.  To save them from their sins.  Sins are doing things, saying things, believing things which are against God Himself.

Can people be loving and not know Jesus as their Savior?
Yes, they can.
Can people be kind and not know Jesus as their Savior?
Yes, they can.

Can those same kind and loving people choose to worship and serve the living God?
Yes, they can.

Can people who are filled with hate turn to the living God and worship Him alone?
          Yes, they can.
