“Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity
and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in unchanging love.”
NASB Micah 7:18
Think about God’s forgiveness –
“Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity …”
“… He does not retain His anger forever…”
Think about God’s love – “… He delights in unchanging love.”
God will not hang onto His anger in eternity.
He forgives – He passes over the rebellious acts of those who love Him.
Does that mean He lets us get away with blatant, intentional sins? Nope. It does not. We need His forgiveness, we need for Him to wipe our slates clean.
People without Jesus as their Savior and who live a life of sin, will experience God’s judgment on their sins. If these same people repent before the living God, receiving Jesus as their Savior… they will be forgiven. Christ Jesus paid the penalty of their sins on a cross. When anyone receives Christ, His sacrificial death paid the penalty for their sins. God’s unchanging love in action!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” NASB 1 John 1:9
Seek God’s forgiveness: turn from doing what is wrong in the sight of God – that’s repentance.
If we love the Lord our God, we will live to please Him, to love Him, to do what He says to do with the right motives.
God delights; yes! He delights in unchanging love.
Since the living God loves His children, those who know Jesus as their Savior… how can we retain our anger toward anyone? God does not bear us a grudge, we should choose not to bear any kind of grudge against — anyone!
~ Take it to heart ~
God’s love always involves His forgiveness.
We want God’s forgiveness, should we not extend forgiveness to others?
God’s unchanging love!
