Wrong Questions ~ Right Questions ~
Wrong Questions ~ When you pray ~
for what should you ask?
for what should you seek?
for what should you knock?
Don’t focus your prayers on the “what” in your life.
Right Questions ~ When you pray ~
to Whom do you lift up your prayer request?
Whom do you seek so your request will be found?
Whose door are you to knock on so the door will opened wide?
We are to focus our prayers on “Who”!
DO focus on WHO hears your prayers… our Father in heaven. Focus on His will and with anticipation wait for His answers.
Who can and will fulfill all your prayer requests based on His will? Jesus gives us the answer.
First, Jesus gave us an illustration of a son asking his father for a fish, the father would not give a snake instead of a fish to his son.
The second illustration is of a son asking his father for an egg. The father would not give his son a scorpion instead of an egg. Luke 11:11-12
We know how to give our children good gifts… Jesus went on to say…
NASB Luke 11:13 “… how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?’”
We have an amazing Father in heaven, followers of Christ.
We have an amazing Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.
We were given God the Holy Spirit when we asked Jesus to be our Savior.
Amazing God! Triune God – three Persons; YET, One God!
When you pray for God the Holy Spirit to work as the Intercessor in lives – He will work far greater outcomes than what our limited understanding is in our intercessory prayer for others and even our prayers for ourselves.
~ Take it to heart ~
Prayer is necessary for ourselves. And intercessory prayer is a blessing for others. Our prayers are to be focused on the living, Triune God! He is the One Who answers prayers far beyond our own understanding.
Ask God! God will give!
Seek God! You will find!
Knock! God will open His door.
