Do you wait… with quietness before you begin praying?  Or do you instantly give the living God your shopping list which you want filled by Him, a.s.a.p.?

An unnamed disciple saw Jesus in prayer… and he waited until Jesus finished.  He did not rush up to Jesus and demand to be heard… instantly.

Jesus finished praying then the disciple approached Him freely and asked Jesus to teach him and the other disciples to pray.  Luke 11:1

Jesus instantly answered with, “When you pray, say:…” and then the Lord Jesus gave the prayer we are to model.  Luke 11:2

The Lord Jesus is… God the Son.  He is holy.  He is also available and accessible.
Do you give Him respect due His name, due to Who He is!?
Do you?

Today, choose to wait for the Lord before bombarding Him with your fears, your anxieties, your shopping list.

Will you begin praying by keeping quiet and in reverent silence?

The blessing of quietness… before praying is to think about Who He is before praying.
