The Company You Keep
We choose our friends. We choose to spend time with them because we enjoy being with them. They make us happy or they challenge us to be better. We are encouraged to stay away from people who are bad influences and cause us to get into trouble.
We become more like the people we are around. Their influences are good, bad or indifferent. Colin Powell once said, “A mirror reflects a man’s face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friend he chooses”.
Consider the “company you keep”. Can people tell that you spend time with God? That you know Him?
Psalm 1:1-3 NASB
“How blessed is the man who does not walk in
the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor
sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And
in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree planted by streams of water,
Which
yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.”

“Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.”
St Francis of Assisi
Your life tells others with Whom you spend time.
