It’s been a long day.  It’s been a busy week.  We don’t have much time to ourselves when we are working full time, raising a family, social time with friends, or just vegging in front of the TV or the computer.  In the precious moments of time we do have, we fill those with a myriad of things we enjoy or with something we can use to “escape” from the daily pressures of everyday life.

It takes work to cultivate relationships, especially when we are tired and had a busy week.  So, we are choosy about with whom we spend our time.  We take time to get to know someone when it is important to us…getting to know someone before marrying them, for example.

We gladly make time to take time when someone is important to us.

As King Solomon prayed, let us also pray…

(NIV) I Kings 8:60-61 “…so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other. 61 And may your hearts be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.”

~ Take it to heart ~

In Psalm 46:10 God says, “Be still and know that I am God”.
God is important enough for us to make time to take time.

Spend time with Him, give Him your undivided attention.
Focus on cultivating your relationship with God.
You were created for that very thing.
