There were twelve disciples, nine are familiar names: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Nathanael (Bartholomew), Philip, Matthew, Thomas and Judas Iscariot.
James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James, these three are not well-known.
I can identify most easily with the three little known disciples or apostles of Jesus Christ.
These men were called by Jesus to follow Him, they were obedient. They heard the teachings of Jesus, they walked with him on the paths of Galilee and Judea. They ate with Him, saw Him heal, and they interacted with Him on a daily basis for about three years.
These three little known men were included when Jesus sent out the twelve to proclaim the kingdom of God, they were given power and authority over all the demons, and to heal. Luke 9:1-6
They are named among the eleven who saw Jesus ascend into heaven. They were important and they were loved by Jesus.
Acts 1:1-14
Follower of Christ, whether you are well known or little known, it makes no difference.
What does make a difference is to be faithful to Jesus and His words to you!
Jesus is faithful to you, He loves you!
~ Take it to heart ~
Jesus called each of the disciples to “Follow Me.”
Jesus called you to follow Him.
