Have you considered that the hard things in your life, that they are for God’s praise and glory?
Have you thought, follower of Christ, that by your attitude and responses you can choose to glorify your God for Who He is in your circumstances?
A displaced couple, from Nazareth, living in Bethlehem, traveled to the temple in Jerusalem to present their new baby boy to the LORD. Luke 2:22
Mary and Joseph did all that the law of Moses said to do when for a firstborn boy. In fact the law of Moses went on to say,
“EVERY firstborn MALE THAT OPENS THE WOMB SHALL BE CALLED HOLY TO THE LORD.”
And that baby was Jesus… the firstborn of God. The firstborn of Mary… and legally, Joseph; set apart for holy purposes.
What was God’s will and purpose for this baby – His only begotten Son? Jesus was holy, He was set apart to do God’s will, God’s way.
Taking your sins and mine as if they were His own – the full weight, the awful weight was on Jesus at the end of His life as He hung on a cross outside the gates of Jerusalem… this was what He was born to do.
Jesus:
His sacrifice frees anyone who asks Him to forgive them of their sins, to ask Him to be their Savior.
His sacrifice frees anyone from God’s wrath from our sins! His sacrifice, chosen by Him, glorified God… even in the worst of deaths, death on a cross!
Jesus:
His birth, His death, His resurrection fulfilled all of God’s purpose and will for Him the first time He came to earth.
Triumphant cry of Christ before He breathed His last – “It is finished!” John 19:30
Triumphant victory over sins, death and Satan.
Triumphant resurrection – His death was accepted by God. Matthew 28:1-7
~ Take it to heart ~
May we never, ever, forget follower of Christ… what our Savior did on our behalf.
Therefore, be Thankful!
Therefore, Celebrate!
Therefore, Praise the Lord!
Therefore, Sing Hallelujah!
Jesus was born … to die for us!
