You are that important to Jesus!

Jesus was intentional ~ you are that important to Jesus!
He turned His face toward Jerusalem, knowing what would happen there.
(NASB) Matthew 16:21 “From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.”

Jesus was realistic ~ you are that important to Jesus!
He knew that both Gentiles and Jewish leaders would kill Him.
(NASB) Matthew 17:22-23 “… The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men;
²³ and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day.”

Jesus knew He would be condemned and tortured ~ you are that important to Jesus!
He knew who would condemn Him to death, the Jewish leaders.  He knew He would be mocked, scourged (a form of torture) before He was crucified.  Matthew 20:18-19

Jesus knew the time of His death ~ you are that important to Jesus!
(NASB) Matthew 26:2 “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be handed over for crucifixion.”

Jesus was mocked, scourged, crucified.
Jesus did die on a cross outside the gates of Jerusalem.
Jesus was buried in a garden tomb.
Jesus was resurrected on the third day…
 just as He said.
“You are that important to Jesus!”

Jesus knew He would return as King ~ He is coming again! ~ you are that important to Jesus!
Jesus ascended into heaven, witnessed by His eleven disciples.
Acts 1:9
Jesus is coming again – as King over all kings.

Jesus was intentional… about His death and resurrection.
Jesus was realistic… about His death and resurrection.
Jesus was prophetic… about His death and resurrection and His return as King.

Jesus knew what was going to happen.
Jesus went to the cross – anyway.
On the cross He paid for your sins.

You are that important to Jesus!
