Listening… to the wrong music? Listening… to the music of praise to our God?
Listening… to the wrong music?
Listening… to the music of praise to our God?
Follower of Christ… are you listening… to the wrong music? Is the music you sing full of depressing thoughts, wasted years, wrong relationships?
Follower of Christ… are you choosing to listen… to the music which praises our God?
David looked at his depressing circumstances as he was hiding in a wilderness cave from King Saul. Then David chose, he chose, to write down his thoughts and his attention shifted onto his God.
David cried aloud to his God… he lifted up his voice to the living God. Psalm 142:1
David’s cry revealed his depression. He had no one to whom he could turn. He was the leader of 400 men… but he did not turn to them. Instead, David turned to his God. Psalm 142:2-4
“Listen” to David. Cry out to God, perhaps using his words or your own.
“I cried out to You, O LORD;
I said, ‘You are my refuge,
My portion in the land of the living.
6 Give heed to my cry,
For I am brought very low;
Deliver me from my persecutors,
for they are too strong for me.
7 Bring my soul out of prison,
So that I may give thanks to Your name;
The righteous will surround me,
For You will deal bountifully with me.”
(NASB) Psalm 142:5-7
