… cry aloud with your voice…
David was on the run… King Saul and his army were pursuing David and about 400 men in the wilderness of Ein Gedi. It is a barren place of rocks and sand and little water, little rain fall. What water there is, comes from springs in that arid region.
Can you imagine living in one cave and running to another when the pursuit of your enemy comes close?
David did this for 10 years!
Whatever your circumstances today… for however long you are in a difficult situation… David is a good example to follow.
What did David do? He cried out to God with his voice. He did not whisper, he did not use mental telepathy, he used his voice.
Psalm 142 was written by David as he was hiding in a cave.
(NASB) Psalm 142:1-2 “I cry aloud with my voice to the LORD.
2 I pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare my trouble before Him.”
When you pray, when you are alone, do you whisper to God? Do you use mental telepathy?
If you are not in the habit of praying aloud, I encourage you to try it. The living God has ears to listen to your voice. He created your voice.
When you are with a loved one, isn’t it a joy to hear their voice? I believe God feels the same way, He would have joy to hear your voice!
~ Take it to heart ~
Pray aloud – the LORD hears your voice.
Pray aloud – be honest and tell the LORD your troubles.
