In 1947, a Bedouin shepherd boy explored a cave in the wilderness area eight miles from the ancient city of Jericho.  The Dead Sea can be seen from these wilderness caves.

What did he find?  He found jars with fragments of parchment in them.  Later, many jars filled with fragments of Scripture were discovered in eleven of those caves.  One held almost the complete text of Isaiah.

How did those fragments get there?  A community of men, the Essenes, hid those parchments by putting them in the jars and escaping from their community of Qumran, before the Roman army came in 70 AD.

Today, these fragments prove that God’s word has not changed.  The best translations of Isaiah today have not changed wording from those found on the fragments written thousands of years ago.
