Obedience to God’s word
Elijah said what the God of the Holy Bible told him to say to King Ahab.  There would be a drought in Israel until Elijah said otherwise.  1 Kings 17:1

The LORD hid Elijah from this mighty king.  The LORD told His prophet to hide himself by the brook Cherith, east of the Jordan River.  Elijah was to drink the water and ravens would bring him bread and meat morning and evening.  1 Kings 17:2-4

Going where God says to go
Elijah did as God told him.  He lived by that water source until it dried up due to the drought.
It would seem Elijah didn’t see anyone during that time.  Did he delight in the “now” when the ravens came morning and again in the evening?

Are you in the habit of delighting in the “now” during the moments of your day?  Do you delight in that bird that lands on a railing?  Do you delight in your meals?
In what do you delight?

Delight in the “now”

Delighting in the now…
Staying as long as the LORD says to stay

Elijah stayed in the hidden location until the water dried up.  Then the LORD gave him the next place to go… north, north to the area of the Gentiles in Zarephath.  1 Kings 17:7-9

16 “Rejoice always;
17 pray without ceasing;
18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
