The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name:
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation.
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Jesus taught his disciples to pray to God…one-on-one and in private. Personal prayer is for us, a time to be alone with our God and Savior. A time to prepare for the day. A time of confession and forgiveness. A time to tell God the desires of our hearts. A time to worship and praise Him.
Matthew 6:5-6 (NIV) “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Ask yourself some questions:
Do you make time to talk with God one-on-one?
Is your prayer a list of things you want?
Or is your prayer time just another thing to get done during the day?
Is your prayer life meaningful?
Remember: You are praying to the God of heaven and earth…
And He dearly loves YOU!
