“…Thy Kingdom Come…”
The Christian church recently celebrated Pentecost. The day the Holy Spirit descended to dwell in the hearts of believers in God and to continue God’s presence on earth. As followers of Christ we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and, through the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives, are representatives of God on earth. I Corinthians 6:19
When we open our hearts to the One and Only God, His kingdom comes to earth. The Holy Spirit teaches us, pours out God’s love on us, gives us joy, and is God’s real presence in our lives.
Teaches us…
John 14:26 (NIV) “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Luke 12:12 (NIV) “for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”Pours out God’s love on us…
Romans 5:5 (NIV) “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”Gives us joy…
Romans 15:13 (NIV) “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”God’s real presence in our lives…
Ephesians 1:13 (NIV) “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,”Followers of Christ, our words and our actions reveal who is on the throne of our hearts.
Matthew 12:34b (NIV) “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”Therefore, every day, let us pray that the Holy Spirit completely fills our hearts with God’s Love and Will so that we may be imitators of Christ. So that we may have all of God’s power to be a witness to His love for us and for others.
Acts 1:8 (NIV) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
