Jesus had a destination in mind…and wanted to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.  His disciples thought nothing of following Him into a boat.  What did Jesus do?  He slept.  Matthew 8:23

A sudden storm came up on the Sea of Galilee… whistling through the pass of the high hills.  Wind, lots of wind caused waves to crash over the boat.  Jesus slept on.  Matthew 8:24

Four of the men on board that boat were fishermen.  They recognized a life-threatening emergency.  Where was Jesus?  Sleeping!  They had to wake Him up.  Their loud, fearful voices, the waves sweeping over the boat, the violence of the wind – and they had to wake Jesus up?!  Their first words were, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!”  Matthew 8:25

These men were scared, they were positive they faced certain death.
Before Jesus even stood up, His first words to them were, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?”  Matthew 8:26

Now you tell me, would Jesus say the same thing to you today?  ‘Why are you afraid?  Are you a person of little faith?’

Then Jesus got up and rebuked the winds and the sea – and the sea became perfectly calm.  Matthew 8:26

The men in that boat were amazed.  Absolutely stunned!  “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”  Matthew 8:27

Jesus led them into these circumstances… where is Jesus leading you?

Jesus has a destination in mind… for you.

Are your circumstances smooth sailing or are the waves crashing around you?

Are you fear-filled?
Or are you faith-filled?
