When things go wrong or are not in keeping with your plans, how do you respond?
Where do you place your confidence?  From where do you gain confidence?

Jesus and His disciples went to a wedding in Cana of Galilee.  They were invited guests.  Mary, Jesus’ mother was there also.  John 2:1
When you attend a special event in your families lives, do you go with joy and confidence?

At the wedding feast in Cana, the family ran out of wine and it could have been really embarrassing to the groom and his family.  John 2:2
When an “oops” happens at a social function, how do you react?

Mary went to Jesus.  She relied on her Son to make things right.  He respectfully and gently told her that this was not the time to declare Himself the Messiah.  But she knew, without a doubt, that her Son would find a solution to this social blunder.  She told the servants to do whatever He told them.  John 2:3-4
To whom do you turn to when there is a need?

Jesus told the servants to take six large waterpots used for ceremonial purification and fill them with water.  They did so.  Then they took a glass and took it to the headwaiter.  He drank it, and was surprised at the excellence of the wine.  Can you imagine those servants?  They knew they had filled those jars with water… now there was more than enough wine available to the guests.  John 2:5-9
When Jesus is involved, He will take your common offering and change it into excellence.

The headwaiter was impressed!  Usually the host would provide the best wine at the beginning and have less expensive wine afterwards.  John 2:10
When Jesus is involved people will notice a difference.

~ Take it to heart ~

Jesus performed many miracles throughout His ministry.  This first miracle occurred at Cana, at a wedding, and there His disciples believed in Him.  When Jesus works, He shows His glory.  John 2:11

When Jesus works in and through your life, He shows His glory.
