Followers of Christ, are you being ostracized, beaten, rejected, or jailed because of your faith in Jesus, your Savior?

Jesus experienced rejection by His hometown… He gave them the marvelous message that He was Messiah… and they rejected Him.
Your family, your friends, your hometown may be treating you in the same way because you give them the message of your Savior.

“Listen” as Jesus took the scroll of Isaiah on the Sabbath in His hometown synagogue reading..
18“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he (God the Father) has anointed me (God the Son – Messiah)
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners,
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’”
(NIV) Luke 4:18-19

After Jesus told His hometown folks that Elijah and Elisha went to the Gentiles, He also was going to the Gentiles… the hometown folks became furious and tried to throw Him from off of a cliff outside of Nazareth.  Luke 4:23-29

Later in His ministry, as Jesus was giving the Sermon on the Mount, He gave His firsthand experience of being persecuted.
(NASB) Matthew 5:9-12 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 ‘Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
12 ‘Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
