Our Comfort Zones
We like our comfort zones. We feel secure when we stay at our comfort level. So did Peter, as a devout Jewish believer in Jesus Christ.
But one day, the Lord God took Peter out of his comfort zone. Are you ready for the Lord God to take you out of your comfort zone? Many times, I’m not either.
Peter was visiting a tanner in Joppa. About noon, Peter went on the flat roof of Simon’s home and had a vision while he was waiting on a meal to be served.
Vision of Peter – Acts 10:10-16
A sheet came down from the sky, and rested on the ground. It was filled with all sorts of animals and crawling creatures. Some were clean, others were unclean for Jewish people to eat.Suddenly a voice said, “Get up, Peter, kill and eat!” What?!!!
Peter responded, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.”Again that same voice said, “What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.”
This vision occurred two more times. Then the sheet and all it contained was taken up into the sky. God was preparing him for a new ministry to the Gentiles – which was outside of his comfort zone.
How is the living God of the Holy Bible wanting our attention on Him?
He is the God who takes us out of our comfort zones to fulfill His plans and purposes.
~ Take it to heart ~
(NASB) 1 Corinthians 5:7 “for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
(NASB) Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Are you walking by faith in the Lord Jesus?
Or are you staying within your comfort zone?
