Our God draws us to Himself
God drew Moses closer to Himself. Yes, God the living God.
You also, follower of Christ, can experience drawing closer to God your Savior. What Moses experienced
Moses asked the living God to be shown God’s glory. The God of the Bible responded with “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you…”
Exodus 33:18-19Then God further said… “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!” Exodus 33:20
Then… then God said an amazing thing, He told Moses ‘there is a place by Me, stand there on that rock.’ Then God said, “I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.” Exodus 33:21-22
The LORD God told Moses that He would take His hand away and Moses would see God’s back… for Moses would not be able to look on God’s face and live.
God’s glory is beyond imagining – no one, absolutely no one – can look on God and His majestic holiness and live. Yet, He provided a way to draw us closer to Him and for us to be in His presence in heaven… it is through faith in His Son, the living Lord Jesus Christ.
Moses later wrote of his experience
(NASB) Psalm 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust.”
