Judgment is a harsh word.  We do not like to think about that characteristic of God.

The LORD God is serious about judgment, He does not warn us, expecting us to pay no attention to Him.  Are we like a child who is without discipline in our lives?  Do we expect God the Father to be a permissive parent?

We are accountable for our words, our actions and our choices.  And we will be judged accordingly.
(NASB) Matthew 12:36-37 “But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.
37 ‘For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

In the days of Moses, the sons of Israel were given great and wonderful promises.  The Promised Land would be theirs and the LORD God would send an angel to lead them there.  The land would be flowing with milk and honey; it would be a land which would give forth an abundance of crops.

But, because of their obstinate hearts, their willful ways, and their stubbornness, God would bring judgment on them.  They did not pay attention to His words.  Exodus 33:1-6

God has not changed.  He is the same God of the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai as He is today.
(NASB) Romans 2:5-6  “But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.
6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:”

God’s judgment is not partial. 
He judges everyone with the same measuring stick.

Believers in the Lord Jesus as their Savior –
God’s judgment: eternal life
(NASB) Romans 2:7 “to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;”

Disobedient to God through unbelief in Jesus as Savior –
God’s judgment: His wrath
(NASB) Romans 2:8-9 “but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil…”

(NASB) John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”
