“… written by the finger of God.”
How important is the Holy Bible to you?
All of the Holy Bible… from Genesis to Revelation.
How important is all of God’s word to you?
There are people today who are claiming that the Old Testament is not needed, that it should be disregarded, discarded, done away with.
Let me ask, what do you do with the quotes in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John about Messiah? Each prophecy quoted is found in the Old Testament.
Another question, what do you do with the letters of Paul? He pointed to the Old Testament a number of times.
And still another question, what do you do with the book of Hebrews? It is all about the Old Testament, especially the Pentateuch. To properly understand the book of Hebrews, you have to understand what the Old Testament is saying about Messiah Jesus!
For thousands of years, the only Bible was the Pentateuch and the Torah. Jesus quoted Moses and the prophets, and quoted other parts of the Old Testament.
The Old Testament is the foundation for the New Testament.
The authors of the four Gospels, which tell of Jesus’ life on earth, quoted Old Testament prophecy and then explained the fulfillment of the various prophecies in the life of Jesus.
And what do you do with the Scriptures in the Old Testament which tell of God’s own finger writing His words to His people? Do you disregard, discard, do away with God Himself?
Be careful, be very careful, of God’s word… He will not treat anyone lightly who says His words, any of His words, are of no consequence.
(NASB) Exodus 31:18 “When He (God) had finished speaking with him (Moses) upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony (the Ten Commandments), tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.” (Italics added)
~ Take it to heart ~
What Jesus said…
(NASB) John 5:46-47 “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote of Me.
47 ‘But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
(Underlining added)
How, indeed, can you believe Jesus
if you do not believe the writings of Moses?
