The story is well-known.  Baby Moses was protected by his mother for three months from the Pharaoh in Egypt. When she became fearful, his mother laid him in a basket and hid him in the bulrushes.  The princess of the palace found him and called him Moses.  His mother nursed him, and he became a son of Egypt, even though he was a true son of Israel. (Exodus 2)

The mother of Moses did not know that he would lead her people out of bondage.  She did not know that he would meet face-to-face with God and be given the ten commandments.  All she knew was her love for him and desperately wanted to save his life.

(NIV) Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep his commandments.”

We all desire love and to be loved.

Do you rest in God’s love for you?

Do you understand how precious you are to God?

God loves you enough that He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for you.  Yes, just for you!

Take it to Heart

A mother’s love saved her son’s life on earth.
Our Savior’s love saves us for eternity.

(NIV) Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
