Placement
The LORD God instructed Moses to build a laver of bronze to hold water.  The priests washed before and after they worshiped the living God.  The laver was to be placed between the tent of Meeting and the altar for burnt sacrifices.  Exodus 30:18

Purpose
Aaron (the high priest) and his sons (serving as priests under him) were to wash their hands and their feet, with the water in the laver, before they approached the altar to offer burnt sacrificial offerings to the LORD.  Before they worshiped, they were to be clean.
Exodus 30:19-20

Follower of Christ, you and I are also to be clean… when we worship the LORD God of the Holy Bible.

Perpetual statute
The high priest, and priests who would follow them in these offices, were to wash their hands and their feet before approaching the altar of sacrificial offering.  This was to be done throughout their generations.  Exodus 30:21
Worshiping God is a wonderful privilege.

Washing was a symbol of turning from our sins and worshiping God with a clean conscience.

Guilt, true guilt, is washed away by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Feeling guilty may be a tool which Satan uses to make God’s children think they are not acceptable to God.

Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior?  Then you are no longer guilty!  God says that faith in Jesus is God’s method of making you clean.  Don’t “listen” to other voices which make you feel guilty.

Your guilt before God is gone!  Why?  Because your faith is in His Son… you are loved!

~ Take it to heart ~

The Placement of the laver was designated by God.  He stated the Purpose for the laver.  Priests, before they served and worshiped Him were to wash in the water of the laver.  This is a  Perpetual  statute for any priest serving and worshiping Him.

Through faith in the Lord Jesus, we are cleansed and we are freed from the guilt of our sins.
