The Godly Responsibility of Prayer
The high priest’s duties in the morning and at twilight in the tent of meeting was in obedience to God’s instructions to Moses.
First, an altar for burning incense was made. Exodus 30:1
Second, the altar was made of durable wood and overlaid with pure gold. Exodus 30:3
Third, the altar was put in a specific place in the tabernacle.
Exodus 30:6
Fourth, the high priest was to burn incense on that altar in the morning and at twilight. Exodus 30:7
Fifth, and of utmost importance, the incense was to be burned twice a day before the LORD throughout the generations of Israel.
The burning incense on the altar represents prayer.
This burning incense in the tabernacle is a “picture” of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying for His followers in the presence of God the Father… every day!
~ Take it to heart ~
We too, have a godly responsibility to pray to God!
We too, have a godly responsibility to pray for others.
Is this your prayer?
“May my prayer be counted as incense before You;
The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.”
(NASB) Psalm 141:2
