My Hope is in God’s Faithfulness
A Choice: to wallow in sorrow, grief, even self-pity.
Another choice: to look to God and remember how He blesses me throughout each day.It has been one year, to the day I am writing this devotional that I began a journal. Writing out, at the end of each day, the blessings God gave me that day, beginning from the time I woke up until I went to bed.
The list is long – blessing upon blessing. Here is a sampling for the year and it isn’t even close to naming God’s strong, specific blessings to me.
Personal blessings Generous blessings Loving blessings Protective blessings
New understanding of God; Growing faith in God; Learning to rest in God Himself
God shows Himself to me
out of His magnanimous heart of love for me!
All praise is to God for His blessings – day by day!
No matter my circumstances (and they have been rough at times) God is faithful.
No matter my emotions (and they have been erratic, and sometimes they are like huge waves crashing on shore from the storms within; or as a punch in the stomach) God is faithful.
No matter my mind or thinking (sometimes forgetfulness due to grief/sorrow; paranoia due to depression) God is Faithful even then.
No matter my “new normal” in social situations the LORD is leading me. He is faithful to me.
No matter what I “want” to happen by my will and it doesn’t. God is still faithful to me.
No matter where I am spiritually God is faithfully helping me, counseling me, guiding me to grow in my faith in Him. God is always faithful!
~ Take it to heart ~
Listen to God… He is speaking to you as you read His words.
“This I recall to mind,
Therefore I have hope.
22 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 ‘The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul,
‘Therefore I have hope in Him.’”
(NASB) Lamentations 3:21-24
