What God said…
(NASB) Exodus 28:31-35 “You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue.
32 ‘There shall be an opening at its top in the middle of it; around its opening there shall be a binding of woven work, like the opening of a coat of mail, so that it will not be torn.
33 ‘You shall make on its hem pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material, all around
on its hem, and bells of gold between them all around:
34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, all around on the hem of the robe.
35 ‘It shall be on Aaron when he ministers; and its tinkling shall be heard when he enters and leaves the holy place before the LORD, so that he will not die.”

What Jesus, the Son of God, said…
(NASB) Matthew 23:1-3 “Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples,
2 saying, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;
3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them.”

          What man did…
(NASB) Matthew 23:4-7 “They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger.
5 ‘But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.
6 ‘They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men.”

How often do we, as people, take a functional and beautiful idea from the LORD and enlarge upon it, so people will notice us?

Jesus called the scribes and Pharisees of His days on earth ~ hypocrites and blind guides.  Matthew 23:13-33

For what reason do you do anything that is good?

Are you doing it to be commended by the living God?
OR are you doing it to be noticed by people, wanting their applause and accolades?

Do you say one thing and do another?  That is hypocrisy.

~ Take it to heart ~

What message did Jesus preach at the beginning of His ministry and continued as He walked the land of Galilee and Judea?

(NASB) Matthew 4:17 “… ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Hypocrisy will be judged…
We need to ask ourselves this question…
from what do I need to repent before the living God?
