When you get ready to go to a party or an important meeting or to worship God… how do you dress?

God is serious about His holiness and those who serve Him are to be clothed for glory and for beauty.

The LORD God instructed Moses about whom He chose to serve Him as high priest and other priests to perform duties in the temple.  Aaron and his four sons were chosen.  He also gave the reason for the clothing the high priest was to wear when serving the LORD.  Special garments were for glory and for beauty.

The LORD also chose to give His Spirit of wisdom to the person who would make the garments.  The garments for the high priest were for the consecration ceremony… as well as serving the LORD on a regular basis.

Each part of the garment was important and God gave Moses a pattern which included the colors and materials used in the tabernacle itself.  Gold, blue, purple and scarlet materials and fine linen.
All of this so that Aaron and his four sons “… may minister as priest to Me.”  Exodus 28:1

God is holy – His standards are set at a high level.  Those who serve Him are to be clothed for glory and for beauty.

Follower of Christ Jesus, you and I are “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you (and I) may declare the praises of Him who called you (and me) out of darkness into His wonderful light.” (NIV) 1 Peter 2:9

~ Take it to heart ~

We are to be clothed for glory and for beauty… as we serve Him in our homes, our neighborhoods, our jobs and our worship.
