A “picture” of Messiah was given to the tribes of Israel when the LORD God gave Moses a pattern for the court of the tabernacle.  It was transportable so the “walls” were tough woven material.  The court measured 150 feet long and 75 feet wide.  It was 5½ feet tall.  It had a “gate” of woven material.

When the priests entered through the gate of the court, they would see a bronze altar for sacrifices.  Then the tabernacle itself. The tabernacle had two rooms.  The first room was the holy place and housed the lampstand, the table of showbread and the altar of incense.  Then a veil hanging from the ceiling to the floor divided the first room from the second.  The holy of holies had the ark of the covenant with the mercy seat on top of it.  This is where the high priest went once a year into the presence of God which was above the gold cherubim on the mercy seat.

Today, we are focusing our thoughts on the gate or the door.

Jesus said,
(NASB) John 10:7-9 “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
9 ‘I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.’”  (Underlining added)

Did you notice the “if”?  “… if anyone enters through Me,”
“if” you enter through faith in Jesus, you will be saved, you will go in – into a personal, intimate, strong relationship with Jesus as your Savior.
It does not depend on your emotions or mental condition.  To be saved by Jesus does not depend on your past or how people “see” you.
No matter how you see yourself, Jesus loves you.

You become one of Jesus’ sheep when you ask Him to be your Savior.  You enter the “gate” or “door” and Jesus is that “gate” or “door.”  Amazing Savior and amazing Shepherd.

~ Take it to heart ~

“Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.”

Celebrate our Savior!  Hallelujah!  What a Savior!

He is the door which we enter into His presence to worship by faith!
