Do you make plans weeks or months ahead?  When we do that, we usually have a destination or ultimate purpose in mind.

The LORD God makes plans for His purposes ahead.  Way ahead.  God gave Moses a pattern for the tabernacle and its furnishings.  Later… rather than sooner God revealed the meaning of each item in that tabernacle and its furnishings as a “picture” of the Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s purpose is all tied to His Messiah, the Anointed One of God and His name is Jesus.

The LORD gave Moses instructions and a pattern for an altar on which something would be burned.  Exodus 27:1-8  That was clear from the description of the pattern.  Hmmm.  What could it have been?
We know that later, God would tell Moses how that bronze altar would be used.  An altar where animals were sacrificed to worship the living God.

The offerings which were sacrificed on that bronze altar would be given two times a day.  Many other offerings would be given besides offerings on special feast days.  That bronze altar would be used a lot… for years and years

Later… rather than sooner, the LORD gave His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ on the altar of the cross… a holy sacrifice which would take away the sins of all who ask Jesus to be their savior.

The bronze altar was a “picture” of the sacrifice God requires for sin.  It is a perfect sacrifice, a male without blemish.  Only Jesus Christ could fulfill those requirements.  God’s own Son.  Think about that!!!  God’s requirement was fulfilled by His Son because you and I could never meet that requirement.  We need Jesus as our Savior… do you know Him as your Savior?

Remember – you are a sinner, period.  Even if you are a follower of Christ, you are a sinner saved by God’s grace through faith in the blood sacrifice of Jesus.

Faith in Jesus is absolutely necessary.
(NASB) Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Even as followers of Christ we still need Jesus every day… we are still sinners… in need of His mercies. You and I need His mercies every day… they are new every morning… praise Him!

~ Take it to heart ~

We need to repent of those things which do not bring God honor and glory in our lives.

We should not wait until later… we should do it as soon as possible.
