Leaving behind ~ Entering new territory
What have you left behind recently? Into what new territory have you entered?
Both of these can be scary to even think about. However, when God calls anyone to leave the familiar and enter into the unfamiliar, new territory, He has called you to… you can trust Him. He knows the plans He has for you… He has already “got your back.”Moses was called by the LORD to “Come up to Me…” and Moses prepared to move forward. God’s plan for Moses involved the Hebrew people’s present and future. Exodus 24:12-13
(NASB) Exodus 24:14 “But to the elders he said, ‘Wait here for us (Moses and Joshua) until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever has a legal matter, let him approach them.”
Moses put two men in charge. Moses was not indispensable; however, his role was important. And he covered the bases for when he was gone.
When you change jobs, do you work to ensure a smooth transition for the position you left? I know a woman who worked for the same institution for seventeen years; then God opened a new door of opportunity. Before she left behind her old job – she worked to ensure a smooth transition, before she entered new territory.
Obedience to God’s open doors of opportunity is a “must.” It is a call on a person’s life. Walking through God’s open doors is to leave one room and enter another.
~ Take it to heart ~
Walk through God’s open doors of opportunity.
Entrust to Him those whom you are leaving.
Trust Him for the new territory you are entering.
