Judge Fairly
What does God, the Judge of all the earth, say about judgements? He is fair in His judgments. And judges are to be fair in the courts of law. God says so.
If a judge has a relative – that person is be given fair judgment – the decision for him or against him is to be done with fairness. If the person is guilty… they are not to be freed. If they are innocent, they are acquitted… to be freed.
(NASB) Exodus 23:6 “You shall not pervert the justice due to your needy brother in his dispute.”
The LORD God gives specific instructions to judges.
(NASB) Leviticus 19:15 “You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.”The LORD God will not show favor to a false charge; He will not free the guilty party – whether they are poor or great. He is the fair Judge.
(NASB) Exodus 23:7 “Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.”
The LORD God is the Righteous Judge of all the earth.
