How is the living God protecting you as a believer in Jesus Christ?

Being a believer is to receive Jesus as your Savior.  That very fact will protect you from your sins you have committed or will commit.  Does that give you the right to willfully commit a sin?  No, it does not.  We are all sinners.  We all need God’s forgiveness, even after we ask Jesus to be our Savior.
However, once you ask Jesus to be your Savior, you never have to ask Him again.  He is your Savior, period.

In the Old Testament, Moses wrote of some of the various ways God protects His people.
Exodus 21:7-11, 20-21, 26-27 – Slaves are the property of others.  Yet, in Israel God gave those Israeli slaves some protections.

Exodus 21:12-14 –  The LORD God made a distinction between the motives  of those who kill another.  Intentionally killing another is murder.  Unintentional killing of another is homicide.

Exodus 21:15, 17 – Parents are to be honored by their children – protection of the family.

Exodus 21:16 – People who are kidnapped.  People are important to God –When another’s life is enslaved – God takes it with the utmost seriousness.

Deuteronomy 24:7 “If a man is caught kidnapping any of his countrymen of the sons of Israel, and he deals with him violently or sells him, then that thief shall die; so you shall purge the evil from among you.”

Exodus 21:18-19 – God’s protection of the person who has been physically set upon – God’s justice is again in action and His protection covers any situation.

Exodus 21:22-25 – Pregnant women and their unborn children are given protection.
God’s protection is just in all situations.

Exodus 21:28-32, 35-36 – God’s protection involves one’s animals.  Oxen were used as a tractor is today.  It was serious to one’s livelihood to have their oxen involved in injuring or killing another.

Exodus 21:33-34 – God protects the unsuspecting of open pits or uncovered manholes.
Whenever a barrier of any kind is set up, it probably warns of potential danger.  Even on your own property, you should warn of holes in the ground.

~ Take it to heart ~

God’s protections are all around us.
Think about and list His protections in your life today.

1 “Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
2 I will  praise the LORD while I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.”
