How do you usually approach each day?
There are times in our lives when we do not even want to get out of bed!  For some, getting out of bed, is an act of courage.

Depression can be an active downward spiral into deeper darkness.
What to do, what to do?  No energy, no desire to do — anything!  The same negative thoughts are on rewind… over and over.

What does God say?  There are many verses in the Bible which deal with depression.  I believe this is one of them.

(NASB) Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous!  Do not tremble (terrified, fear gripping you) or be dismayed (discouraged, depressed), for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

How can God command such a thing when we are emotionally and mentally unable to be strong or courageous?  For one thing, God is greater than our emotions, our mental state or our circumstances.
He promises to go with you!  Wherever you go, He is with you, follower of Christ.

My friend, the only reason I can go with confidence into the fiery furnace of today is because the LORD is the God of my salvation, He is my Savior.
Hang onto Him.  Cling to Him.  Call out to Him.

When negative thoughts come at you like darts or arrows – stop!  When you recognize you are thinking destructive thoughts, turn to the LORD and His word.

Intentionally think about a verse or a helpful passage which you remember and turn to it even if it is many times a day.

Stop whatever you are doing and do something else.  No matter where you are; at home, at work, during relaxing times… it is your choice to turn from the downward spiral of negative thoughts and look up to God.

You can live with confidence!  Why?  Because God says He is with you!

(NASB) Joshua 1:9 “‘Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous!  Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

~ Take it to heart ~

REMEMBER:
(NASB) Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

You CAN live with confidence!
