“You shall not murder”
Murder is intentional and it is different from unintentional homicide.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:21-24 (NASB),
“You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’
22 ‘But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.”The Lord Jesus Christ warned us about our anger.
Anger, unchecked, can lead to violent words and violent actions. Anger is ugly. Have you seen a truly angry person? Their face is contorted by ugliness. They are controlled by their fury. They inflame others with hateful words to do violence, to harm others.
Do you let your anger control you? Anger smolders then breaks into uncontrollable flames when words of rage become heated actions. Anger does not like to be alone; it wants to include others in acts of violence.
(NASB) Proverbs 29:22 ‘An angry man (or woman) stirs up strife,
And a hot-tempered man (or woman) abounds in transgression.”
Are you letting your anger control you?
According to Proverbs 15:18, you have a choice –
To let anger control you and inflame others OR you can be slow to anger and quick to calm a dispute.
~ Take it to heart ~
(NASB) Ephesians 4:26 “BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.”
Satan can influence you when you are angry with people!
REMEMBER: “You shall not murder.”
REMEMBER: forgive before the sun goes down today.
