The seventh commandment: “You shall not commit adultery.”

Today, in many countries, adultery is practiced without a thought of it being wrong.

What is adultery?  A dictionary definition: Adultery – Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a partner other than the lawful husband or wife.”

What did Jesus say about adultery?
(NASB) Matthew 5:27-28 “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY’;
28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

Men are strongly warned about committing adultery.  Women who entice men to desire them sexually are considered harlots or prostitutes.  Proverbs 6:24-29 gives an explicit description of a harlot or an adulteress.

MEN committing adultery begins with looking at a woman with sexual desire.
WOMEN – today, many times their way of dressing has sexual overtones.

The Bible talks about harlots and prostitutes: don’t sell your bodies for any reason!  For money OR for sexual desire.

Please note: rape is NOT being a harlot or prostitute.

Everyone has an opportunity to make a choice… to stop the thoughts that easily lead to the sin of adultery.

~ Take it to heart ~

Do you need to confess your sin of thinking about a woman or man with sexual desire when they are off limits to you?

(NASB) 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins (to God), He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
