Hurricanes, typhoons, erupting volcanos, earthquakes, tsunamis… catastrophic events over which people have no control – Nada!  None!  Zilch!

Think about the Almighty God, the God of creation – He is available to be our refuge and strength in the storms and awful events of life.  He is a very present help in any kind of trouble.

Promise of the LORD God
(NASB) Psalm 46:1  “God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.”

Erupting volcanos
(NASB) Psalm 46:2 “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;

Tsunamis
(NASB) Psalm 46:3 “… Though its waters roar and foam…”

Earthquakes
(NASB) Psalm 46:3 “…Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.”

Many times, catastrophic events change not only our surroundings, but they change our lives.
Clinging to the LORD God and His promises are our best options.  He is our refuge, He is our strength in our changing world.

In the cataclysmic events of life – turn to the living God – He will give you strength to take one step at a time… many times they are only baby steps in your changing world.

The Psalmist knew what he was writing about!  Do you sense his dependence on the LORD God from his own experience?

You also can know the LORD God as your refuge and strength for yourself.

You also can know that the living God is your ever present help in the time of your troubles.
