When people who have just met you, call you by a different name – what do you know immediately?
They were not listening…
They did not “catch” your name correctly…
Or they were not interested in knowing you…

Jesus, the Anointed One of God, Messiah, my Savior – knows my name!
My Shepherd Savior “calls His own sheep by name.”  I am important to Him!

People may not call me by my name – Jesus always calls me by my name.  He calls me to follow Him.  He is “safe” to follow because He leads me in this journey of life.

Many times in these devotionals the question has been asked, “Do you know Jesus as your Savior?”
Now this question comes to mind, does the Lord Jesus know your name?

“Listen” to the warning and the promise which Jesus made to all who choose to follow Him.

  First, the Warning of false leaders/shepherds
(NASB) John 10:1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.”

Second, the Promise of the true Shepherd, Jesus
(NASB) John 10:2-4 “But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep.
3 ‘To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 ‘When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.”

Can you say the following because Jesus knows you?

(NASB) Psalm 139:1-3 “O LORD, You have searched me and known me,
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.”

You know me!
The Lord Jesus knows me! 
You love me!
You call me by my name!
